Dienes has developed an automatic positioning system with material web tracking for inline slitting. For this new product, the basic knife holder positioning system was modified so that the knife holders and the bottom knives follow the diminution of the material web. The benefits of this system range from very short setup and positioning times to an easy storage of slitting recipes to a decrease in material waste. The company says this system is an ideal product if cuts have to follow a print, coating or the material edge for foil, paper, label or nonwoven material. The operator can do this either automatically or manually. Benefits include positioning times under 15 seconds, short set-up times, high precision due to minimal slit width change tolerances, and easy handling due to touchscreen operation.
